Eagle Ottawa’s YMCA Charity Golf Outings Surpass $135,000 in Support of North Oakland YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – August 13, 2013 – Eagle Ottawa hosted its 6th Annual Charity Golf Outing benefitting the North Oakland YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. The outing, held at the R & S Sharf Golf Course at Oakland University, fielded 24 teams – totaling more than 100 golfers – representing numerous companies across the Metro Detroit automotive industry. The annual event is known for its great competition, corporate camaraderie and generous community philanthropy.

“Eagle Ottawa takes community involvement very seriously and helping the YMCA is a great way to support a local agency that makes a huge difference in children’s lives,” said Pat Catlin, executive vice president global sales, all ages and we are happy that our combined efforts make these programs available to kids in our community.”

Over the past six years, the golf outing has raised more than $135,000 for the Y’s Strong Kids Campaign.

“The North Oakland Family YMCA is grateful to Eagle Ottawa and all the participants and sponsors for such a wonderful event,” said Chris King, executive director of the North Oakland Family YMCA. “Funds raised by these golf outings have assisted hundreds of children and families in need within our community. The North Oakland Family Branch provides safe alternatives to youth, support to overburdened families, health and wellness programs for all ages, quality sports, aquatics programs and much more. The Eagle Ottawa family has been very generous with their time, resources and support over the years and has enabled the Y to deliver invaluable services back to our community.”
